English: Cautious descent, Moor Lane Normally in conditions like this I'd expect the only people to be using the tiny moorland roads would be local farmers in four-wheel drive pickups or Landrovers, so it was a bit of a surprise to need to step off the road surface to allow a red Alfa-Romeo to pass, driving very slowly and looking as though touching the brakes was not on the agenda at all. As I took the photo, he was just starting onto a steeper bit and further on, out of sight, he would encounter some more steep bits and bends and some very icy patches. Continuing my own walk back to my car not far out of the village of Newsham, I found no cars in ditches, so presume the descent was accomplished in safety.
